One of the most drought-tolerant and frost-tolerant highbush blueberry cultivars, 'Bluecrop' produces abundant sweet, bright-blue fruit in mid-season. Self-pollinating.

This shrub's foliage turns a fiery red in fall, giving it great ornamental value as well. 'Bluecrop' is the most popular variety in North America, it prefers an organically rich, medium to wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Although blueberries are self-fertile, cross-pollination produces the best fruit crop so we recommend planting two and you'll notice bigger berries and larger crops.

Blueberries do require acid soil - so it may be best to grow your blueberries in a container if your garden soil is not appropriate. Mulch with acidic peat, wood chippings or pine needles and water well. In winter, prune twiggy growth from the base of plant and remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. For healthier plants and bigger harvests, remove flowers for first 2 years after planting. Do not heavily prune plants younger than 3 years old.
