Campanula glomerata 'Emerald' is one of Elke's Faves this season...this is what she has to say:
This is a beautiful, easy to grow cut flower. It ticks all the boxes: deer resistant, bee and butterfly attracting, hardy in zones 3-9, a blooming time from early to late summer and tolerates full sun to partial shade. It’s almost like the ‘perfect’ plant and definitely will be in my garden this season.
The sky-blue colour of the beautiful bell-shaped blooms are a real standout in the garden. Blooms all summer long!
Campanula glomerata, commonly known as clustered bellflower, is an upright perennial that is native to Europe and Asia. The genus name comes from the Latin 'campana' meaning bell in reference to the bell-shaped flowers and 'glomeratus' meaning clustered in reference to the densely packed flowers - up to 15 per flowerhead! Promptly remove spent flower stems to encourage additional bloom. Divide clumps in fall every 3-5 years to maintain vigor and control spread.
