Cushion Spurge is one of the most popular landscaping plants because it's easy to grow and requires very little maintenance to look colourful and stunning. 'Bonfire' is a mounding, clump-forming perennial which typically grows in a dome or cushion shape and displays it reddish foliage all summer long. In late spring, sulphur yellow flowers light up the whole plant for several weeks.
After flowering in spring, Cushion Spurge should be cut back to about 4 in, 10 cm. This will keep the plant more compact and prevent it from splitting in the center. Use caution and wear gloves when handling this plant; it is poisonous if eaten and the stems exude a milky sap which can be a skin and eye irritant.
