Athyrium ‘Applecourt’ is a unique-looking Japanese painted fern that not only has lovely purple, silver and green markings, but each leaf is dramatically split and tufted at the tip.
It does well when planted near water and in damp woodland settings. As a shade-lover it combines beautifully with Hostas. 'Applecourt' naturalizes well by short, branching rhizomes and can form dense colonies in optimum growing conditions.
