'Singer' is one of Wendy's Faves this season...this is what she has to say:
Singer is the most vivid red colour you can imagine. As the summer progresses, this shorter Dahlia will be completely covered in blooms that will carry on providing colour until late in the fall. It’s Canada’s 150th Birthday...why not celebrate by planting some in your garden.
Singer offers vivid red petals that are perfect conversation starters when planted up front in lovely, sunny garden beds.
Border & Patio Dahlias are smaller in stature and are the ideal choice for pots and balcony gardens or at the front of garden beds. Originating from Mexico and Guatemala, these were the flowers of Inca kings and despite their royal origins Dahlias are amongst the easiest plants to grow in the garden. They are a wonderful source of cut flowers and will provide a veritable cornucopia of colourful blooms for your bouquets from mid summer until the first frost. Hardy as they are, Dahlias are susceptible to cold so be careful not to plant them too early and be sure to dig them up and store them in a frost-free place before old Jack Frost comes calling!
