Double Late Tulip 'Double Negrita' is one of Elke's Faves this season...this is what she has to say:
The single Negrita tulip has always been a favourite. Now that it's available as a double, I couldn't be happier. All the great features are 'doubled' up. The dark purple colour looks even richer with its layers of petals. This late bloomer will make a spectacular finale in my spring garden.
Meet Negrita's fabulous cousin - she has even more lovely, dark purple petals to enjoy!
These fully double tulips have large, ruffled petals that resemble peonies, in fact, they are sometimes referred to as Peony Tulips. Some are fragrant and all have flower heads that can reach up to 4 inches, 10 cm across which not only adds to their allure in the garden but as cut flowers as well. Just imagine your own home-made bouquet overflowering with a few of these spectacular blooms! They are considered late spring bloomers so if you're looking to extend your spring flowering season they're the perfect choice.
