Muscari Mount Hood is one of Elke's Faves this season...this is what she has to say:
Ahhhh Mount Hood .... I want everyone to have them in their garden! A little different than the classic blue variety, Mount Hood has a white rim around every single small flower. The white top makes you think either of a beautiful mountaintop or a crown. I am sure you will love them.
Mount Hood is unique with sky blue flowers that mature to white on top. They have very long-lasting blooms and naturalize easily so plant this showstopper in bunches all over!
Commonly known as Grape Hyacinth, Muscari provide a wealth of blooms and are very easy to grow. Short spikes of blooms appear very early in the spring and their grass like leaves will appear in the fall. Try planting them in rock gardens, along borders, under trees or naturalized in short grass. For shorter flower bouquet arrangements, try adding a few Muscari: not only are they delightfully sweet smelling but they provide a nice accent to your traditional spring bouquet.
