'Sunny Bonaire' is one of Pam's Faves this season...this is what she has to say:
If you only have a small garden space to work with and are looking for spectacular flowers and fragrance then ‘Sunny Bonaire’ is the right choice. I love growing these flowers in my patio containers...super rewarding on so many levels!
We just love the wavy petals of Sunny Bonaire! Shorter in height compared to standard Orientals but the flowers are just as big and fragrant.
These variants of the standard Oriental Lily are still flamboyant and fragrant but somewhat smaller in stature. Oriental Patio Lilies are ideal for containers but go ahead and plant them along borders and at the front of your garden beds. Even though they're smaller in stature they still pack a punch when it comes to fragrance and when planted in groups, their aroma can fill the garden. Try cutting a few to bring indoors and share some with your friends and family.
Plant them in a rather heavy soil with an ample supply of humus and good drainage. Remove faded flowers and do not cut back stems until autumn. Bulbs should not be lifted but left in the soil to bloom annually for many years.
